Hands-on, adaptable and naturally interested in people and businesses. These traits are no doubt a result of my international background. During my childhood I lived in various places in Europe, which meant I was exposed to different environments and cultures. I thrive in new settings and am always up for a challenge.

In 2024 I started Leijten Legal, having been a lawyer for 13 years. As a lawyer at Stek Advocaten, I specialised in commercial and corporate disputes. During that time, I represented medium sized enterprises, listed companies as well as company directors. These clients were active in a great variety of industries.

I became increasingly more interested in the “real world” and found myself wanting to know more about the commercial business aspects underlying the legal problem which needed solving. Being a freelance legal counsel gives me the opportunity to immerse myself in the business in order to be able to give practical advice which makes sense from both a legal and a commercial point of view.
